LOCAL FOODS IN NEO
REACHING OUT ACROSS THE REGION:
More than anything, local food has the potential to bring us together as a region. How can we build a healthy, sustainable, and equitable food system for Northeast Ohio? How can urban centers like Cleveland and Youngstown stimulate market demand for locally grown foods? How do we connect rural farmers with city populations? How do we retain as many food dollars as possible in our local economy and keep them circulating to increase economic multipliers? Learn from organizers and participants from the second Regional Food Congress in Northeast Ohio about the recent congress that was held on November 7-8. Learn about some avenues for working together cross-regionally and share your ten cents about how we can all work together to make this happen. Who knows, maybe Cleveland can move from #2 to #1 in local foods nationally in 2009!
Next City Fresh Monday will take a break for the holidays and resume again February 16, 2009.
