Local Food Cleveland

I think that this site should also list the location and contact informaation for farmers in the countryside. Farmers markets are great, but so is driving out to visit farms, orchards and farm stands in the country. I often wonder where to go for U-Pick strawberries apples, etc. This should be listed under the Buy Local section. How would we go about adding that to this website?

Sue -

If you or somebody else would like to compile a list of farms, farm stands, etc. I would be happy to post in the buy local guide.

Thanks.

Greenfield Berry farm is a farm in the Initiative... here is his website http://greenfieldberryfarm.com/ They offer the PYO berries your talking about.

For fresh eggs stop by our farm, we just opened up for the public April 1st. We are also a farm in the Initiative... We will have chicken, eggs, and turkey all raised on pasture. www.bruntyfarms.com

Hi,
I found this website called Pick Your Own at: http://www.pickyourown.org/OH.htm

This page provides a detailed list of Cleveland, Akron and northeast Ohio's pick-your-own (PYO, U-pick, pick-it-yourself) farms. http://www.pickyourown.org/OHcleveland.htm#listings

It lists Greenfield Berry Farm but not Brunty Farm

Farmers can add their farms, including directions.
