Lakewood Residents Question the Rumours about Selling Kauffman Park...

I was told of, a not fully substantiated proposal, by the Drug Mart folks to butcher Kauffman Park, Community Garden & Farmers Market to construct a Medical Arts Building. We are going to a breakfast meeting tomorrow about this. Called Lakewood Mayor & City Council about this, they said the issue is blown put of proportion. I live behind the Park, I want to know facts.

Lakewood folk- we should be smart and investigate this - without a Witchhunt mentality, but also without a doe-eyed naiveté that the City will do the right thing either. Look at all the vacant Commercial stock in Lakewood. To lose another Greenspace and Garden Plot would be madness...
