I can't wait to have our orchard and block club meetings there this spring and summer. I can almost hear the trains going by already! :-)

Stop by and see the new table/benches donated and installed in the orchard by the Boy Scouts! They look great and will be a place to hang out this summer. Thanks to Justin for making it happen.

Hey - to take advantage of the balmy near 40 degrees temperature tomorrow, we are holding a vine and tree pruning work/fun session at the Detroit Shoreway Community Orchard on Wakefield (behind Franklin Blvd at West 81st)  and then we'll move on to other grape vines and trees in the neighborhood that need pruning. Bring your tools and other tree locations  and wear snow boots! Call Bobbi at 650-6945 if you want to catch up with us after we leave the orchard.

I appreciate the conviviality! I'm excited to get involved. My green thumb and community spirit are aching to get back to work. BTW, our house will be providing us with some apples to share come fall!
