As you most likely have heard, the movie is now available on DVD. In fact, we have a box of 100 DVDs earmarked for promotional purposes... and we need your help!
We want to distribute these to publications, organizations, and individuals who are in the best position to widely spread the word about the movie being available for: community screenings, theatrical showings, educational use, library circulation - and of course for "home use" as well.
Tom and I have a list going, but the more I think about it, the more I'm convinced the community surrounding PolyCultures has to be smarter than the two of us on this. So we want to know which publications, organizations, and individuals come to your mind!
To give you a sense of what we're looking for, here are some examples from our list so far:
Ethicurian - Major sustainable food blog that review books and movies about food politics
Pitchfork - Major online music review/news site that might be interested in the soundtrack to our indie movie
Film Threat - Big online-only site for reviewing of all types of movies
The Linkery - Influential farm-to-fork restaurant in San Diego with widely read blog
Michelle Obama - First Lady, who started White House garden
Growing Power (aka Will Allen) - Highly-publicized urban farm in Milwaukee
Huffington Post - Progressive online publication
Feel free to send along suggestions that may seem obvious - the more requests we get for a certain thing, the more likely we are to go for it. Also, it could be you or someone you know who you nominate - just let us know why and we'll definitely consider it.
We're looking to get these all sent out by the end of July, so please let me know this weekend what you have in mind.
Thanks!
David
