What knowledge and practices do you want to learn?: I'd like to learn more about raising fruit trees.

What about local food makes you most excited?: The flavor is better. It's a great way to connect with the community.

At 6:42pm on 7 October 2008, Blue EggFarmer said…: The bee's didn't do so good this year. I wintered over 3 hives and bought another 3#pack for a total of 4. The spring was great and I thought for sure we would have surplus honey coming out of our ears, then we had a drought, no clover at all. They worked every bit of buckwheat I planted but must have used it all right away. One of the 3 obscounded during the the summer, no honey no brood no dead bees. The other 2 are barely making a living so no taking of honey from them. The new package is going gang busters, great buildup but they are also having problems getting enough nectar. Maybe next year for them.
